Mind Maps
(14 October 2011)
Have you introduced your students to the idea of a mind map?
Mind maps can be used to help students visualise, understand, organise and link key concepts. Students sometimes use them to summarise information or as an aid to revision. Provided are 3 samples of mind maps that provide a possible overview for Statistics for Junior and Leaving Certificate:
- Leaving Cert Higher Level Mind Map (Probability & Statistics)
- Leaving Cert Ordinary Level Mind Map (Probability & Statistics)
- Junior Cert Mind Map (Probability & Statistics)
These are just an example of what students may come up with for an overview of Statistics Junior/Leaving Certificate. Why not get your students to try and create a mind map as an exercise?
[ Note: when printing mind maps, it is important to print at least one copy onto A3 paper, otherwise print quality may be poor. You can then photocopy as required.]
